background

Difficulty in Changing Gear:
Poor alignment of shaft on spline, causing damage to spline teeth dropping of cover assembly, resulting in damage to straps poor fitment over location pins bending cover pressing Insufficient release travel wear on cable or release mechanism.

Loss Of Drive:
Hanging on gearbox causing angular misalignment excessive driving conditions resulting in damage to friction material.

Judder:
Copper based lubrication used causing glazing of friction material driver resting foot on pedal causing a reduction of load between the pressure plate and flywheel scored flywheel causing uneven take-up of clutch plate.

Stiffness of Pedal:
Worn release shaft or bent fork Insufficient lubrication of release pivots worn parts in release mechanism.

Noisy Clutch:
Broken or bent bearing carrier seizes release bearing due to oil contamination or excessive pre-load.

Slipping:
Overheating of clutch unit due to resting of foot on pedal jamming of automatic release mechanism.

Slipping and Loss of Drive:
Cracked pressure plate due to excessive clutch slip/overheating oil contamination causing glazing of non-asbestos friction material.

Noise When In Neutral:
Damage to drive plate causing damage to damper spring excessive oil contamination into drive plate damper mechanism.

Metallic Noise at Bottom Of Travel:
Excessive release travel causing bearing carrier to touch diaphragm spring excessive travel causing underneath of diaphragm spring to touch drive plate.
